Looking to the Future

"The Ministry Trust Fund exists to meet present ministry needs to build a stronger church for the next generation. The fund is the effort of all of the people. It serves the gospel. I encourage your participation in this creative opportunity to strengthen the church in Western North Dakota."

- Duane C. Danielson, Bishop

What is the Need?

The Ministry Trust Fund focuses on "serving those who serve."Your support makes it valuable source for those who labor in the Lord's vineyard throughout Western North Dakota.

Why? Because the Fund insures ventures of faith and missions of ministry with financial backing, when dollars are necessary tools for furthering the gospel.

What is the Fund?

Simply put - it's your investment opportunity for the kingdom of God and for the future. The Fund was a dream of former Bishop Robert Lynne and created by a resolution of the Synod Assembly in 1989. It serves pastors and parishioners of the Western Synod in a myriad of ways.

What can the Fund do for your Congregation?

The Fund insures that a godly vision becomes reality, it strengthens our tradition of neighbor helping neighbor, and it provides for a "savings account" for a fruit-bearing future - our future- with:

  • Scholarships of WND seminary students
  • Encouragement for rural internship in WND
  • Assistance for congregations in the call process
  • Seminars, idea-sessions, leadership conferences for lay and pastoral leadership
  • Aid for parishes in transition to newer, healthier parish alignments
  • Bishop's discretionary fund for pastoral emergencies

The Bottom Line is this:

God had already provided us with capable people, with a great place for ministry, and with growing, service opportunities. Grants awarded thus far have totaled $119,000. We have provided scholarships to 32 different seminary students. Of those who have graduated, many are now in Western ND Synod parishes. - Pray that God gives a real heart for this ministry…that our hearts beat with God's heart, that our eyes may see as God's eyes sees, and that our hands accomplish what God's hands would do. These are the measures of a ministry, which will continue to grow with support of the fund.

What Can I do to Help?

JOIN A GIVING CLUB TODAY! Invest in the future of the Synod by giving a few dollars to support tomorrow's needs.

  • A gift of $1 to $999 brings membership in the Pioneer's Club
  • A gift of $1,000 to $4,999 brings a membership in the Sodbreaker's Club
  • A gift of $5,000 or more brings membership in the Bishop's Club.

Every gift is important. Without you what will the next generation do? Every Gift ensures WND's continued ministry.
