The Vocation of
the program is the development of leadership for renewal of Christian
mission in congregations and communities through the training of the
priesthood of all believers.
GIFTS
purpose is....
to equip lay people for mission within the church society.
the development of leadership for renewal of Christian mission in

not to finish but to participate in an ongoing mission.
GIFTS
provide opportunities....
to develop a mentor relationship with a pastor.
to discern and utilize our God given gifts.
to attend at least three training events each year on a
variety of topics related to:
. Bible
. History of
Christianity
. Doctrine
and Theology
. Leadership
. Evangelism
.
Discipleship
Most participants regard GIFTS as a lifelong "catechumenate,"
which is an intentional process of Christian education lasting from
baptism to death.

members are.....
from ELCA congregations.
from a range of occupations, ages, and educational backgrounds.
recognized at the synod assembly after attending at least 12
training events.
encourage to take time to daily spend quiet time with God. This
may include development of the:
Heart through prayer, worship,
daily devotions, scripture
study, journaling.
Mind growing in knowledge through
GIFTS events,
individual study, mentor meetings.
Hands through discovering our
individual gifts and learning
to use them.
