Throughout the 2015 North Dakota Legislative Session, we will feature information on bills that pertain to congregational ministry.

Giving Tax Credit Bill for Non-Itemizers
HB 1276 would create a tax credit for non-itemizers who donate to qualifying North Dakota charitable nonprofits. The bill was introduced last week. A hearing has not yet been scheduled.

Register for Nonprofit Day at the Capitol
Join fellow nonprofit leaders in Bismarck at the State Capitol on Feb. 3 to raise your voices about the importance  of the nonprofit sector. Legislative leaders will be invited to provide a briefing, North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations members will be exhibiting in Memorial and Legislative Halls, and the day will conclude with an ice cream social with legislators.  The event is free, but registration is required by Jan. 27.

2015 Legislative Deadlines
Major legislative deadlines are listed below. View all of the legislative deadlines.

Jan. 19 – Deadline for representatives to introduce bills
Jan. 26 – Deadline for senators to introduce bills
Feb. 3 – Nonprofit Day at the Capitol
Feb. 27 – Crossover for bills
March 2-3 – Recess
March 11 – Crossover for resolutions
April 29 – Session is limited to 80 days
